The I Love Insurance Companies Weekly Link Round-Up

One little informational nugget that I don't think I've shared with you folks is that, at the beginning of 2016, the company I retired from decided we old fogies were too expensive, so they dropped their retiree insurance plans. Bless their hearts! I found another medical insurance plan, signed up, and have been paying my premiums ever since. Well, guess what? The insurance plan I chose isn't going to be carried in 2017, so I've had to do the same thing all over again.

To make absolutely, positively certain that my joy was complete, the new company sent me a bill for a monthly premium of $1,115... when I was quoted $442. I think you'll understand why I may be a tad obstinant about paying the $1,115. I can't wait to telephone them in order to get this straightened out. I'm hoping that I'll get someone with a working brain who can actually respond to what I'm saying instead of merely spouting the company line over and over and over and....  I know! I'm singing to the choir, aren't I?

I'd better stop anticipating that phone call and do something else. Like choose a new book to read. If you've been with me very long, you know that I track my reading by setting (among other things), and when I checked my map earlier today, I noticed that Russia was looking mighty bare. I think I'll start singing my favorite Christmas song and head out to my to-be-read shelves. I know I have several mysteries set in Russia. The problem will be choosing just the right one!

Oops. Perhaps I'd better head out to the Link Corral first. After all, that's why you're all here.  Head 'em up! Mooove 'em out!

  1. Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about the whole insurance company thing, Cathy! Note: I didn't say I'm shocked about it. Those companies can be real bottom-feeders. Wishing you well as you deal with them. If you need me, I'll be in that Mayan temple...

    1. I think I have more of a problem with their hiring people and giving them very little training other than how to read the scripts they're given.

  2. The insurance companies can cause anxiety and great frustration. I know what you mean about waiting to call. Usually you get these surprises late in Friday's mail. I hope you can get it straightened out.

The 300 year old poo article was really something. I am sure at this point the bishop isn't worried about lack of privacy.
