The Out on a Limb Weekly Link Round-Up

Not to worry! Any limbs I'm referring to are the ones I'm pruning back out in the yard. Sometimes I wish there were something that I could put on all the trees and shrubs around here that would make them "hold their prune," thus rendering obsolete the need for any further shearing. Especially when most desert plants wear wickedly sharp thorns. More than once I've gone somewhere, someone's seen all the scratches on my forearms, and I've been asked, "Do you have a cat?" Nope. Just bougainvillea. And palo verde. And sweet acacia. And....

I'm almost done and about to start on chores that I consider to be even more fun. Like shampooing carpets. *cough*  You know what? Instead of talking about the stuff you and I don't like to do, let me show you a photo of a greedy little critter I saw at the Desert Botanical Garden. Then I'm going to mosey out to the corral for those links I've been saving!

A greedy ground squirrel that's out on a limb or two!

  • This squirrel enjoys taunting a cat.
  • The bookish hedgehogs of Instagram.
  • Animals that are silently plotting your death (and several for good reason, I might add).
  • A neurotic cat that lies in wait for the mail carrier each day.
  • Watch 33 lions who spent their lives in a circus finally go back home to Africa.
  • What do you do when you spot a bear with a bucket on its head?
  • This baby beaver won quite a few fans when it tried to take the DC Metro.
  • What would you do if you were taking photos in an African game reserve and a wild cheetah walked up and started licking your toes? (I think I'd be sitting in the middle of a lake-- if you get my drift!)

That's all for this week! Don't forget to stop by next Friday when I'll be sharing a freshly selected batch of links for your surfing pleasure.

Have a great weekend, and read something fabulous!

  1. Oh, that ground squirrel 'photo is great! Thanks, Cathy. And trust me, I know all about chores you don't want to do but need to *sigh.* And now I'm going to take that planetary journey to see if there's life elsewhere...

    1. I'll bet they don't have to do yardwork....

  2. I recognized a few of those things book lovers do...

My husband the postman says that he's heard of dogs doing things like what that nutty cat did, but he's never heard of a cat doing that.

    1. I don't have much patience, so I'm afraid that if I were their mail carrier, that family would have to get a PO box! LOL

Thank you for taking the time to make a comment. I really appreciate it!
