Saturday Snapshot: Spring at the Desert Botanical Garden

If you'd like to participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme hosted by Alyce on her blog At Home With Books, post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post on Alyce's blog. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don’t post random photos that you find online.

======

One of the best things about spring here in the Phoenix area is being able to visit the Butterfly Pavilion at the Desert Botanical Garden. It's easy to wear out a set of camera batteries in that one area alone, but when you begin wandering the paths of the garden and see all the critters as well as all the cacti and wildflowers blooming, well... you'd best be carrying more than one set of batteries-- and a spare memory card, too!  As you can see, I found a show-off that just begged to have me take its picture. How could I say no?  (Click the photo if you'd like to see it in a larger size.)

    We visited the butterfly pavillion at the San Diego Wild Animal Park last april, and it was so much fun. And, as you said, you need your batteries and extra memory card :-)

    1. Denis and I love going there. One time we had a coyote pup following us around-- although it did believe it was hidden from our view!

  8. Gorgeous photo! We've gone to butterfly conservatories and we get excellent photos there. Alas my great niece didn't enjoy the experience so much since there were so many and she didn't like them flying toward her face. The butterflies will perch anywhere.
