Spring Fever Weekly Link Round-Up

Spring fever has struck me with both fists. Repeatedly. I've spent a large chunk of this week outside trimming shrubs and potting a variety of blooming flowers into big containers to set out on the patio. I plan to do much the same thing next week because I want to get everything in shape for the new patio furniture that arrived and is still packed up in boxes.

While grocery shopping at Target today, I learned that a man I worked with for many years has been having his own dance with cancer-- on almost the exact same time table as me. How weird! And how wonderful because they got all the cancer during his surgery, and he, too, avoided chemo.

I've even been cooking more, this week's experiment being Creole black beans and sausage, which was delicious. As you can see-- my mind has been out in the fresh air and not much occupied with blogging. That may change, since a twenty degree drop in temperature and rain is forecast for tomorrow!

Let's move on to my late links!

  3. It is very difficult for me to make up my mind if I like or loathe all the current articles about self-published writers having success. I suppose it should be encouraging for all of us to see it is possible to make millions from e-books. What if we don´t write thrillers, romance or vampire stories?

I do like the flexibility of self-publishing, however. I have always found it puzzling that publishers demand novels of a certain length. What if my story is a 40,000 word-story? So like Stephen Leather I enjoy the idea of writing MY story the way (and length) I want it.

  4. Ooh, new patio furniture - how exciting! Seriously, I've wanted to get some new patio furniture for years. :)

I had to use a typewriter all through high school (it was that time when all of my friends' families had just purchased computers, and I was stuck with a typewriter). I was thrilled to get rid of that thing.

  5. Margot-- You're welcome!

Bernadette-- You're welcome. I'm glad you liked the sign, too. :)

Dorte-- Thrillers, romances, vampires... or ZOMBIES! (Yuck.) With the advent of e-publishing, I think publishers had better learn to be much more flexible, don't you?

Alyce-- We put the patio furniture together this weekend, and I love it!!!! When the cushions for the chairs arrive and I have the pool area spruced up, I'll have to take photos.
