Thank You, Vicki!

A big Thank You goes to Vicki of Reading at the Beach for giving me the XXtraordinary Blogger Award. (Of all the blog names on the Internet, I think hers is my favorite!)

Many of you regulars know how unpredictable I am with awards, but I'm actually following one of the rules this time, which states that I must share one extraordinary thing that has happened to me.

Well... there have been quite a few extraordinary things that have happened to me, but the one that's been on my mind tonight and closest to my heart is that, being a confirmed loner who wasn't looking for a relationship, I somehow stumbled across the love of my life and married for the first (and only) time at the age of 47.

Being that confirmed loner and an independent cuss to boot, it took me a couple of years to get used to the whole relationship/ living together thing, but now I can't imagine my life any other way. (I don't want to imagine my life any other way!)

Like my wedding band says, "Vous et nul autre," Denis!

  1. Congratulations on your award and also, for finding your soul mate.

  2. Cathy - Congratulations! How wonderful that you've found that special person. That's wonderful!

And of course, congratulations on the award, too : ).

  3. Awwwwwwww!!!!!! And congrats on the award.

  4. I think you were just holding out for the right fella. Congratulations on your award!

  5. It does take some of us longer than others to find the right guy. I didn't meet Dave until I was 34, but I have an excuse - as you know, I an originally from IL and he was hiding out in Maine. :)

  6. Congratulations - also on finding Denis :D

People´s stories are so different; I found my husband when I was seventeen, we married when I was nineteen, and today at age 49, I think I can safely say it was for life ;D

  7. Congrats on the award and on finding the man you love.

  8. Margot-- Thanks!

    Beth-- Thank you!

Kathy-- One lesson my mother taught me that seemed to "take" was "Never settle." I didn't, and I couldn't be happier.

Barbara-- I know what you mean. I'm from the same neck of the woods as you, and my guy was hiding out in England (and in a nuclear submarine in various oceans)!

Dorte-- I'd almost envy you if I didn't have Denis!

    Kris-- Thanks!

    Leah-- Thanks!

Thank you for taking the time to make a comment. I really appreciate it!
