Further Down the Slippery Slope

What happened?

It used to be that my eyes would fly by any and all references to reading challenges. Nope. Not interested. Comin' through. I have posts to read. Outta my way.

Well...now you'd better get outta my way because I'm gaining speed on the slippery slope of reading challenges, and I think my brakes have failed. If "Flat" isn't a becoming style for you, please... step aside.

The latest challenge that has lit up my life is Book Chick City's Typically British Reading Challenge. Since I was an Anglophile whilst still in diapers, how can I resist? I read many British authors as it is, so I should be able to reach the highest plateau of the challenge (Cream Crackered) with both hands tied behind me back and an eyepatch o'er one eye.

If reading British authors makes your heart go pitty-pat, or if you've always wanted to give them a try, this is the challenge for you!

  5. Oh, I'm so with you ... I went from doing the Fall Into Reading challenge (as the first one I finished) to signing up for 12! AND, as if that wasn't bad enough, I just announced that I am hosting one! (It's The Memorable Memoir Challenge for 2010 - details on my blog, if you need a 5th challenge. Would love to have you - and anyone else! :)

  6. You're doing a double effort to mine - I've gone from no challenges to two. Although I could easily join this one too but I think 2 challenges to keep track of and report on will be more than enough for me :)

  8. Molly-- I might be one of the few that the bulldog didn't entice. I think the Union Jack did it for me! LOL

    Kathy-- It's a good thing I don't subscribe to all book blogs. I'd hate to see what would happen!

    Michele-- Most of the challenges I've joined (which you can see listed in my sidebar) don't require a hidebound list, which is good. Free-spirited curmudgeon that I am, I don't want to be tied down too much! ;) I've been working on a slightly different blog template with a more mysterious design. It also will have a tab for all my reading challenges.

    Melissa-- Yikes! You're not supposed to shove me further down the slope, woman! LOL

    Bernadette-- With the mysteries we read, this would be easy for both of us, wouldn't it? :)

    Sandra-- Most of my reading will probably have a very mysterious bent. :)
